**AT&T Expanding Richardson Footprint with Major Tower Lease**
AT&T is deepening its presence in Richardson, Texas, with a major expansion at the Lakeside Boulevard Tower. The telecommunications giant is set to take over seven floors of the building, located at 2221 Lakeside Blvd., as part of a significant facility upgrade.
Building owner Provident is investing $15.8 million into the enhancement program, with construction already underway. Earlier this year, AT&T signed a lease for 186,000 square feet in the tower, accounting for approximately 23% of the building’s total space. The new expansion effort positions AT&T to increase its workforce at the site to around 1,400 employees — roughly 1,000 more than are currently based there.
The expanded facility will primarily operate as a call center, with employees expected to begin moving into the space toward the end of the year, depending on construction progress. According to an AT&T spokesperson, the leases for the company’s existing Richardson-based call centers will soon expire, prompting this move to a single, modernized location with the flexibility to accommodate future growth.
Provident acquired the 807,000-square-foot Lakeside Boulevard Tower in November, further solidifying the location’s appeal as a business hub in the region.
