"Atlanta Grady Hospital Announces $46M Upgrade"

Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta is taking action following the closure of WellStar Atlanta Medical Center. With its renowned burn unit and the only Level-1 trauma center in town, Grady is stepping up to fill the gap.

A $46 million project has been initiated by Grady Memorial Hospital to modernize its Downtown campus. This includes revamping their aging burn unit, expanding lab space, and hiring over 100 new healthcare professionals. The majority of funds will be allocated towards upgrading the burn unit with a portion also being used for renovated labs. A significant portion of this project will be funded through charitable donations. As a 953-bed hospital, Grady serves as a crucial part of Georgia’s healthcare system for those who cannot afford medical care.

Parts of the facility have not undergone any major renovations in quite some time but that is about to change with this upcoming project set to begin in June and expected completion date set for April 2025.
