**Abebe Ventures Plans Major Mixed-Use Development in Southwest Atlanta**

Abebe Ventures has unveiled plans for a transformative mixed-use development in southwest Atlanta’s Capitol View neighborhood, aiming for completion by 2035. The expansive project is set to include 3,032 residential units and over 716,000 square feet of commercial space.

The development will span a section of Sylvan Road, bordered by Avon Avenue to the north and Dill Avenue to the south. The company, operating under Abebe Westside Ventures LLC, acquired a 6.5-acre site at 1215 Sylvan Road for $8.3 million in August of last year. Additional parcels along Cox Avenue are also included in the development plans.

Strategically positioned, the project will border the future Oakland + Murphy connector trail — a 1.31-mile segment of the Atlanta BeltLine. Once completed, the trail will connect the existing Southside Trail to Murphy Avenue and the Oakland City MARTA station. Trail construction is expected to begin in 2026 and finish by 2027.

The development will also rise near the BeltLine’s Murphy Crossing site, which is poised to include housing, retail, and industrial spaces across approximately 20 acres along the Westside Trail.

This large-scale initiative reflects continued growth and investment in southwest Atlanta, reinforcing the area’s growing reputation as a hub for smart urban redevelopment.
