Atlanta Civic Center: Signs of Life Revealed

The Atlanta Civic Center, once a hub of cultural activity, has been revitalized by the Atlanta Housing Authority. The property was acquired in 2017 for $31 million and a master plan is being developed by Civic Center Partners – consisting of Republic Properties, The Michaels Organization and Sophy Capital. This project is expected to bring about an urban revival worth nearly $600 million.

According to the Atlanta Housing Authority, the development will encompass 1.8 million square feet of retail space, affordable housing options, outdoor green areas and a civic square. After being shuttered for ten years due to neglect in both its building structure and surrounding area, the future looks bright for the Atlanta Civic Center as it remains an integral part of the city’s urban core.
