Phoenix’s once-popular Fiesta Mall, known for its retail and entertainment offerings, has fallen victim to the rise of online shopping and the impact of Covid. However, a new development may bring it back to its former glory.
Verde Investments Inc., based in Tempe, has submitted a rezoning application with Mesa City in hopes of transforming the closed mall into a mixed-use development. The proposed plans include 4,000 apartment units as well as 750,000 square feet of office space and over 1 million square feet for commercial use including a hotel. Additionally, there will be more than half-a-million square feet dedicated to open space.
The project is aptly named “Fiesta Redefined” and could potentially revive this iconic site in Phoenix’s history.
