Arts and Education Nonprofit Signs Lease at Brookfield Pier 70: A Guide to Nonprofit Leasing

Brookfield Properties has recently announced the leasing of space at Pier 70’s historic Building 12 to The Plenary, Co., a nonprofit organization focused on arts and education. This addition further enhances the site’s thriving community of creative individuals, including artists, makers, and innovators. Building 12 is an integral part of Brookfield Properties’ ongoing development project in San Francisco’s Central Waterfront area.

According to Tim Bacon, senior director of development at Brookfield Properties, The Plenary is a perfect fit for Building 12 due to its emphasis on creativity, inclusivity and community building. He also commends the organization for their efforts in addressing societal issues.

Originally constructed in 1941 as part of World War II shipbuilding efforts, Building 12 spans the length equivalent to that of a football field and features steel construction. It has already secured leases with seven other artists,makers,and food purveyors who are committed to remaining or expanding their presence within San Francisco.ThePlenary plans on opening its doors at this location by early2024.

This news marks another milestone for Brookfield Properties’ Pier70 project which continues to attract diverse businesses while preserving historical structures like Buildingl2.This latest lease agreement highlights how this mixed-use neighborhood serves as an ideal destination for organizations seeking both creativityandcommunityin one place.
