“Brownsville Reflections: Past, Present, Future” is a public art exhibition presented by ArtBridge, Slate Property Group and RiseBoro Community Partnership. The exhibit showcases the works of three local artists – Jocelyn Goode, Laurent Chevalier and Sophia Victor. These artworks can be found on the construction sheds at 326 Rockaway Avenue in Brownsville, Brooklyn as part of an innovative mixed-use affordable housing development designed to be an all-electric passive house with no reliance on fossil fuels for heating.
The building will provide 215 permanently affordable apartments with a specific focus on serving formerly homeless young adults and their families. This project is also part of City Canvas initiative which transforms temporary protective structures into platforms for showcasing art. The artwork will remain on display throughout the construction process until its completion in summer 2025.
