Arlington Mall Renovation Includes Dick's House of Sport

Plans for the redevelopment of the 1.5 million square foot Parks Mall in Arlington, Texas have been approved and will start with converting a former Sears into one of the few Dick’s House of Sport locations in the country. The project includes transforming an existing 120,000-square-foot anchor location into a Dick’s House of Sport and reconfiguring 80,000 square feet to attract multiple new retail tenants as well as restaurants, entertainment venues and services. These improvements are designed to draw more shoppers while boosting sales; since 2018 assessed value has decreased by 19.3%, or $48.7 million dollars at this mall location alone.

The multi-phased redevelopment is expected to generate substantial property tax and sales tax revenue for Arlington through its estimated $45 million cost investment that would include indoor/outdoor sports fields & courts available year round during community events hosted by Dick’s Sporting Goods store itself – providing visitors with unique experiences beyond traditional shopping activities .
