Arlington Bears Demo: Moving Ahead Despite Uncertainty

The Chicago Bears have begun exterior demolition at Arlington Park, the former Arlington International Racecourse Park, as they continue to shop for prospective places to call home amid financing issues. The team purchased the property for $197 million earlier this year and are now taking steps towards transforming it into a new entertainment district and potential home venue.

However, due to ongoing hurdles with its property tax assessment, the finality of Arlington Heights as their new stadium location is in jeopardy. As such, they have been meeting with leadership from Naperville Mayor Scott Wehrli and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson to assess other options outside of Arlington.
