Aritzia, a popular women’s fashion boutique based in Vancouver, has recently opened its flagship location on Chicago’s famous Magnificent Mile. The store is located at 555 N. Michigan Ave., taking over the space previously occupied by The Gap.
The Canadian brand signed a lease for the two-story, 50,000-square-foot building in 2022. This deal was not only the largest transaction completed on the Magnificent Mile since 2015 but also marked the first flagship agreement since 2019.
According to John Vance of Stone Real Estate, “In recent months, brokers have noticed an uptick in activity along this avenue.” Aritzia’s opening and other new additions like H&M have contributed to this surge of interest within the district.
In addition to their flagship location on Michigan Ave., Aritzia has also expanded their presence in Chicago with a fifth store at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg which spans over 2.2 million square feet.
