### Ardent Companies Acquires Seminole Towne Center for Mixed-Use Redevelopment

The Ardent Companies (Ardent) has acquired 76 acres of the former Seminole Towne Center site in Sanford, FL, for $17.5 million. The company plans to transform the once-thriving mall into a mixed-use destination featuring retail, multifamily housing, and a hotel.

Originally developed as a mall more than 30 years ago, Seminole Towne Center was sold by 4th Dimension Properties. The previous owners, along with an investment partner, purchased the property for $52.3 million in 2020.

Ardent CEO Matt Shulman emphasized the company’s commitment to working closely with the City of Sanford and other stakeholders to ensure the project creates a dynamic space for both residents and visitors. “We will work in close collaboration with the City of Sanford and other stakeholders to redevelop this site into a mixed-use district that will once again serve as an exciting hub of activity for residents and visitors. We look forward to sharing more details soon,” he stated.

Sanford’s Director of Economic Development, Brady Lessard, highlighted the project’s significance, calling it “the largest retail redevelopment in Seminole County’s history.”

The project aligns with Ardent’s broader strategy of revitalizing distressed assets, marking a long-term investment in Sanford’s economic and commercial landscape.
