Archer Aviation, a leading provider of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, has announced plans to establish an air mobility network connecting five key locations in the San Francisco Bay Area. These locations include South San Francisco, Napa, San Jose, Oakland and Livermore. Kilroy Realty Corporation has been chosen as the anchor for this network through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed with Archer.
The MOU outlines Kilroy Oyster Point – a 50-acre waterfront campus in South San Francisco – as the designated hub for this planned network. The focus will be on exploring opportunities to construct a vertiport at Kilroy Oyster Point development. This partnership also supports the development of an innovative “Sea Portal” by Archer that will serve as a waterfront mobility hub offering electric ferry service and eVTOL operations for all companies located at Kilroy Oyster Point. Notably powered by renewable energy sources.
Angela Aman, CEO of Kilroy Realty Corporation stated: “We believe that this cutting-edge and sustainable service has immense potential to provide exceptional convenience and options for our current tenants while further distinguishing our project within the competitive South San Francisco market.”
