### Apple to Expand Arizona Chip Production Commitment

Thanks to the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) plant located just north of Phoenix, Arizona is set to receive a significant portion of **Apple Inc.’s** recent $500 billion commitment to investing in U.S. manufacturing facilities.

Apple’s announcement marks the largest capital investment in the company’s history. As part of this initiative, Apple will double the size of its U.S. Advanced Manufacturing Fund from $5 billion to $10 billion. This includes a multi-billion-dollar agreement to produce advanced silicon at TSMC’s Fab 21 facility in Arizona.

Apple, the largest customer at this cutting-edge facility in North Phoenix, began mass production of its chips there last month. The company had originally committed to sourcing chips from the Arizona TSMC plant in 2022.

Further expanding its operations, TSMC’s second Phoenix factory is expected to begin production in 2028. This facility will manufacture 2- and 3-nanometer process technologies for major tech firms, including Apple, AMD, Nvidia, and Qualcomm.
