“Another Wave of Surfing in Mesa”

"Another Wave of Surfing in Mesa"

In 1969, Big Surf revolutionized the concept of inland surf spots by introducing wave machines that created breakers on the desert sand in Mesa. For half a century, it provided a much-needed escape for residents of the Valley of the Sun during scorching summers. However, after its closure in 2019, another surf park is now taking its place.

Revel Surf at Cannon Beach will officially open on March 1st following a soft opening in December. This publicly accessible surf park is one of only three in the country and serves as an anchor for a mixed-use complex spanning over 37 acres. Located at 4503 S Power Road in Mesa, Revel Surf boasts a massive lagoon measuring at 1.8 acres and offers over half-a-million square feet of retail space along with restaurants and hotels.

Visitors to this park will have access to all necessary surfing equipment as well as lessons suitable for every skill level. In addition to riding waves, guests can also relax on imported Florida sand or enjoy other activities such as skateboarding or cliff jumping from heights reaching up to26 feet high. The artificial wave pool is powered by Swell Mfg technology while multiple food and beverage options are available onsite alongside two hotels.
