Andreesen Horowitz, also known as a16z, has recently signed a lease for 34,390 square feet of newly redeveloped space at 2400-2450 Sand Hill Rd. in The Quad. This prime location is part of the prestigious Sand Hill Collection (SHC) in Menlo Park, which includes two other campuses – The Ranch and The Grove.
The venture capital firm will be occupying two brand new buildings within SHC and is expected to move in by 2026. According to Gregg Walker, president of DivcoWest Real Estate Asset Management: “We are delighted to welcome a16z into our community at SHC.” He further adds that their innovative investment approach makes them an ideal addition to the already dynamic group of forward-thinkers and trailblazers at SHC.
JLL’s Hugh Scott and Derek Johnson were instrumental in negotiating this lease on behalf of a16z while Christian Prelle, Brad Van Linge Sarah Bohannon and Clayton Jones from Newmark represented DivcoWest.
DivcoWest acquired all 26 buildings that make up SHC through two separate transactions – one in 2011 followed by another one last year. This collection now accounts for approximately half (45%)of all office spaces along Sand Hill Road; an iconic stretch connecting Menlo Park,Palo Alto, and Woodside where many leading firms operate within the global economy.
