Amgen, one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, has announced plans to invest more than $600 million in the development of a new Science and Innovation Center at its global headquarters in Thousand Oaks, California. Construction is set to begin in the third quarter of the year.

The state-of-the-art facility will be designed to foster collaboration among researchers, engineers, and scientists from multiple disciplines. The goal is to accelerate the discovery of next-generation therapeutics targeting the most serious human diseases. Key features of the center include advanced automation technologies and robust digital capabilities that will enhance research processes and support scientific breakthroughs.

“This new center will empower our scientists with the tools and collaborative environment they need to shape the next era of scientific discovery and advance medicines that improve human health,” said Robert A. Bradway, Chairman and CEO of Amgen.

This latest announcement is part of Amgen’s broader commitment to innovation and expansion. In addition to the Thousand Oaks project, the company recently unveiled a $900 million expansion of its manufacturing facility in Central Ohio, as well as a $1 billion investment in a second manufacturing plant located in Holly Springs, North Carolina.
