Amazon has initiated the relocation process for its employees to new office space in Bellevue, despite construction delays. The e-commerce giant is transferring 2,000 office employees from Seattle to Bellevue, where they will occupy two newly constructed office towers.
Vulcan Real Estate’s 555 Tower is one of the two buildings that will serve as working space for approximately half of Amazon’s relocated workforce. While the first 19 floors of this 42-story tower have been completed, work on the remaining floors has been temporarily halted.
Additionally, another group of around 1,000 Amazon employees are set to move into West Main Tower 1. This three-building project at117106th Avenue NE was also developed by Vulcan.
This relocation comes amidst plans for growth and expansion by other local employers such as TikTok in the Seattle area. Following Microsoft’s decision not to renew its lease on a massive7500 square feet property , Amazon now holds the title of largest employer in Bellevue.
