Amazon Flex Opens First Puget Sound Location in Former Bartell Drugs Space
Amazon has officially launched its first Seattle-area Amazon Flex location at Roosevelt Square, occupying a former Bartell Drugs storefront.
Part of Amazon’s “last-mile” delivery network, which began in 2015, the new location spans 15,514 square feet on the second floor of the prominent retail center. This site marks the first Amazon Flex hub in the Puget Sound region and joins seven other Flex locations across Washington state. Amazon currently operates Flex facilities in all 50 states.
Roosevelt Square, located near the University of Washington campus, saw the departure of Bartell Drugs in 2023 as part of a broader shutdown of several store locations. This newly repurposed space now contributes to Amazon’s growing delivery infrastructure.
The leasing agent for Roosevelt Square is John Chelico of Kidder Mathews. The property is owned by Regency Centers, a Jacksonville-based real estate investment trust that also owns other regional centers, including Broadway Market in Seattle, Eastgate Plaza in Bellevue, and Southcenter Plaza in Tukwila.
