Amazon Acquires Manassas Site for $218M to Expand Data Center Arm

Amazon Data Services Inc., a subsidiary of Amazon.com Inc., has recently acquired a 91-acre site in Manassas for $218 million, as reported by the Washington Business Journal. The purchased property, located at 14237 and 14209 Dumfries Road, was previously owned by Parsons Business Park LLC. This acquisition marks Amazon’s continued expansion into the data center market.

In March, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors approved a rezoning proffer amendment that allows for data center development on this site. Situated within the county’s Data Center Opportunity Zone Overlay District, this property offers fast-track permitting and by-right development opportunities for data centers in designated areas.

This latest purchase adds to Amazon’s existing presence in Manassas where it already operates multiple data centers. In fact, just earlier this year in January they acquired an additional 140 acres for further development of their growing footprint.
