In FY 2023, the federal government allocated a staggering $987.7 billion in contracts, with Washington DC receiving $32.1 billion for various projects. Extensive research conducted by JLL revealed that over half of DC’s contract allotments since 2015 were distributed among five prominent industry sectors.
The computer systems and design service sector dominated the federal contract allocation in DC for FY 2023, securing a whopping $5.2 billion and maintaining its top position for three consecutive years now. This sector has consistently shown an impressive average annual growth rate of 8% since 2015, focusing on designing comprehensive integrated computer systems encompassing hardware, software, and communication technologies.
Among the top recipients of federal contracts in DC for FY 2023 were Chemonics International, Booz Allen Hamilton Deloitte Consulting Accenture Federal Services General Dynamics Information Technology – all renowned entities that captured an impressive total contract funding share of approximately12.5%. Their individual allocations ranged from$583 million to $918 million per entity – further solidifying their dominance within this market segment.
