Alexandria Real Estate Equities Opens Alexandria Learning Lab at Fred Hutch Cancer Center
Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc., a leading life science real estate investment trust, has announced the opening of the Alexandria Learning Lab at Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle, Washington.
This cutting-edge facility was developed in collaboration with Fred Hutch to advance STEM education and workforce development in the region’s growing life sciences sector. Situated on the South Lake Union campus of Fred Hutch, the Alexandria Learning Lab is designed as a permanent space dedicated to immersive, hands-on scientific training.
The lab will serve more than 225 high school and undergraduate students each year, providing instruction in essential laboratory techniques and exposure to real-world applications related to cancer diagnostics and treatment.
Alexandria has played an integral role in supporting Seattle’s innovation ecosystem since acquiring the original Fred Hutch campus in 1996. The new Learning Lab underscores the company’s long-standing commitment to empowering the next generation of scientific leaders and strengthening Seattle’s position as a global center for life sciences research and development.
