"Albuquerque's Former Tallest Tower Now Up for Auction"

The former Bank of the West Tower, a prominent landmark in Albuquerque, is currently being auctioned off. This 17-story office building spans 163,000 square feet and is located at 5301 Central Ave. NE near San Mateo. The broker for this property is Anthony Johnson from Pegasus Group LLC.

According to Albuquerque Business First, bidding for the vacant building will commence on October 30 with an initial bid of $900,000. In recent years (specifically in 2023), the property underwent renovations and now boasts four elevators and a parking lot with space for up to 660 vehicles.

During its construction in the early ’60s, this tower was considered as Duke City’s tallest structure. It was originally built by Del Webb Corp., but later became known as Bank of the West Tower when that company moved into it back in2001; however they relocated elsewhere by2012.
