Alaska Airlines Acquires Former Boeing Building for Training Facility

Alaska Airlines has announced its plans to establish a cutting-edge training facility in Renton. The airline acquired the 19-acre property at Longacres for $85.75 million, which includes a state-of-the-art 600,000-square-foot building originally constructed by Boeing for aviation training purposes.

JLL’s Senior Managing Director Kris Curtis represented Alaska Airlines in this transaction and expressed their satisfaction with finding such a specialized facility that perfectly meets their needs and is conveniently located near their headquarters. Curtis also praised Unico’s vision for developing the campus into an attractive live-work-play destination.

The new training hub will provide comprehensive instruction for flight attendants and pilots while centralizing operations under one roof. Along with advanced simulators, the facility will feature an aircraft mock-up for inflight simulations, classrooms, an auditorium, a production studio, and ample office space.
