According to a recent report by Cushman & Wakefield, the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) has had a significant impact on tech employment and occupancy across the country. However, California stands out as the state with the highest concentration of AI firms in the United States, particularly in cities like San Francisco and Silicon Valley.
The report highlights that California is a major hub for AI talent, with three cities ranking among the top 10 metropolitan areas for hiring in this field. Within California itself, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles (LA), and San Diego have seen substantial growth in AI-related jobs. In fact, LA alone has experienced a 25% increase.
In terms of tenant demand for office space related to AI companies,the Bay Area leads with 2.5 million square feet sought after by tenants.However,Austin also shows strong demand due to one large tenant requirement dominating its market.
