Skanska USA has joined forces with other industry leaders to form the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Task Force on Decarbonization and Carbon Reporting. This task force is dedicated to tackling carbon emissions in the construction sector by creating an industry guidebook and educational resources on decarbonization best practices.
The initiative is part of AGC’s broader climate change program, which works towards shaping policies that reduce environmental impact from the construction industry. Skanska USA, Clark, DPR, Ryan Companies are among the founding members of this task force while Granite, Kiewit Mortenson and Turner have also joined in support.
In alignment with its commitment to sustainability initiatives across its value chain , Skanska aims for net-zero carbon emission by 2045 along with a 70% reduction in controlled emissions by 2030 .
