New Affordable Senior Housing Opens Near New York Botanical Garden
New York State Homes and Community Renewal, in partnership with the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, recently celebrated the grand opening of 2850 Webster Avenue. This 12-story development, located adjacent to NYBG, offers affordable housing for seniors earning up to 50 percent of the Area Median Income. The project also includes 12,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor leased by Cherry Valley Marketplace. On-site social services are provided through Fordham Bedford Community Services and residents receive complimentary memberships to NYBG.
Construction is currently underway for phase two at 2868 Webster Avenue which will provide more affordable residences for families as well as additional retail space.
This new senior housing development not only provides much-needed affordable housing options but also fosters a strong sense of community with its convenient location near NYBG and access to various amenities.
