A new affordable senior housing building has been unveiled in the Bronx by a development team led by Xenolith Partners LLC, a Women-owned Business Enterprise (WBE), alongside The Kretchmer Companies, ELH Mgmt. LLC, and JASA. Casa Celina offers 204 apartments spread across 16 stories, with 62 units designated for formerly homeless older residents and 142 units for households earning less than or equal to 50% of the Area Median Income. Additionally, NYCHA residents will receive preference for 35 of these units.
JASA will serve as the property manager and provide on-site services such as health programs, medical transportation services,and social support to residents. The building boasts amenities like a fitness room,lounge areas,a landscaped roof terrace,and laundry facilities.The design of Casa Celina is tailored towards supporting older adults with features like walk-in showers and accessible units.
This $113 million project was financed through HDC bonds,subsidies,and tax credit equity.Residents have already started moving in with full occupancy expected by the end of2024.This new addition to Bronx’s housing options is set to cater specifically towards seniors who require affordable living arrangements without compromising on quality or convenience.
