Affordable Housing Building in Northeast DC: A New Development

SOME (So Others Might Eat), a nonprofit based in Washington D.C., has recently opened the Roberts Residences at 1515 North Capitol Street NE. This 15-story, 92,000-square-foot building is now the tallest structure in Ward 5 and provides affordable housing options for disadvantaged residents of the nation’s capital. With a total of 139 units designed for single adults, including specifically designated units for those earning below both 30% and50% AMI levels.

In partnership with D.C. Housing Authority (DCHA), SOME has subsidized rent costs for up to75 units within this building to ensure that residents only pay based on their income level – with DCHA covering any remaining balance beyond what they can afford themselves. The Roberts Residences also offers various amenities such as a computer lab, library space, classrooms,a gym,and Wi-Fi access throughout all rooms to promote community engagement and livability among its tenants.

This new addition to Northeast DC’s housing market is set to make an impact by providing high-quality living spaces at an affordable cost without compromising on essential facilities or services needed by its occupants.
