Affirmed Housing recently celebrated the grand opening of The Iris, a new affordable and supportive housing development in West Los Angeles. This project will provide much-needed homes for low-income and formerly unhoused individuals in the area. Councilmember Traci Park attended a special ceremony to commemorate this milestone.
According to Park, “The Iris is another example of our commitment to finding comprehensive solutions for Council District 11.” She believes that this project will have a positive impact on working families in the community while also providing support services for those who were previously homeless, helping them find purposeful lives.
Funding for The Iris came from various sources, including contributions from the City of Los Angeles and deferred developer fees. Federal and state tax credits were also utilized, with additional support coming from Bank of America through project-based vouchers provided by the city’s Housing Authority. Garrett Gin, Bank of America’s market executive in Los Angeles expressed pride at being able to help finance this important development that brings much-needed affordable housing options to West LA.
