AdventHealth has recently announced the construction of a state-of-the-art hospital in Orlando’s Lake Nona community. This $423 million project, set to be completed by 2026, will span across 25 acres and feature 80 beds with potential for expansion up to 320 beds. Along with the hospital, there will also be a medical office building and retail spaces.
The current freestanding emergency room located at 10080 Lake Nona Blvd., which has been operational since last year, will continue to serve patients until the new hospital opens. Plans for its future use include transforming it into a medical office building or outpatient surgical center.
According to reports from Orlando Business Journal, AdventHealth aims for this new facility to have advanced technology such as ultrasound tumor treatment and robotic surgery capabilities. Specialties offered at this location will include bariatrics, cardiology, men’s health services neurology, and orthopedics. The staff is expected to consist of around500 members upon opening.
Leading architectural firm ESA is overseeing the design of this project while Brasfield & Gorrie serves as general contractor.
