**Ace Pickleball and Dave & Buster’s to Open in Former Sugar Land Sporting Goods Store**
Ace Pickleball and Dave & Buster’s are set to breathe new life into a shuttered sporting goods store in Sugar Land, Texas. According to the Houston Business Journal, Ace Pickleball has signed a lease for 33,740 square feet, while Dave & Buster’s will occupy 30,613 square feet within the same retail center. Public filings indicate that Dave & Buster’s is preparing to invest up to $5.5 million in the new location.
The redevelopment site is located at the northeast corner of the Grand Parkway and U.S. Highway 59 and is owned by Phillips Edison & Company Inc. This will mark the fourth Dave & Buster’s location in the Houston area and the second Ace Pickleball franchise in Greater Houston. The facility is set to feature 12 pickleball courts, with construction costs estimated at $850,000. The opening is targeted for later this year.
Ace Pickleball Club was founded in 2023 by a team of entrepreneurs who previously worked with Sky Zone Trampoline Parks. The company opened its flagship, corporate-owned location in Roswell, Georgia, and has quickly expanded to 13 locations across 12 states. To date, Ace Pickleball has sold 130 franchise agreements nationwide, reflecting the sport’s growing popularity and the brand’s rapid development strategy.
