AC Hotel McKinney on Track for October Opening at Hub 121 in Craig Ranch

AC Hotel McKinney Reveals Open Date
CRE Market Beat Take
Back-to-back AC and JW Marriott projects in Craig Ranch signal sustained investor confidence in McKinney’s hospitality and group demand, adding competitive supply to the Dallas metro’s suburban hotel pipeline.

The AC Hotel McKinney, a Marriott-branded hotel under construction at Hub 121 in the Craig Ranch area of McKinney, is on schedule to open to guests in October. The project adds a new select-service offering to the Craig Ranch mixed-use environment and is part of a broader wave of hospitality development in the area.

Peachtree Group has been engaged to manage the AC Hotel McKinney once it opens. Construction on the five-story property began in March 2024, and work is progressing toward completion in advance of the planned opening date. The hotel is being delivered as a ground-up build within the Hub 121 portion of Craig Ranch, aligning with ongoing commercial growth in that district.

Upon completion, the hotel is expected to encompass nearly 71,500 square feet and include 137 guest rooms, of which eight will be suites. The room mix is designed to serve both business and leisure travelers visiting Craig Ranch and the surrounding McKinney area. In addition to its guest room inventory, the property will provide nearly 3,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, positioning the hotel to host small corporate gatherings, social events, and group functions.

Food and beverage offerings at the AC Hotel McKinney will feature the Good & Proper Wood Fired Bistro. The restaurant plans to serve dinner with a menu focused on elevated American cuisine and flavors influenced by Texas. Guests will also have access to the AC Lounge, which will serve as an additional on-site social and gathering space within the hotel. These components are intended to create a cohesive hospitality experience inside the property.

The AC Hotel McKinney is one of multiple hospitality projects advancing in Craig Ranch. Another planned addition is the JW Marriott Resort McKinney Craig Ranch, which is expected to break ground in 2027. Current plans for that future resort call for 290 rooms and more than 51,000 square feet of conference space. The concept also includes multiple restaurants, a lazy river, pickleball courts, and direct access to TPC Craig Ranch, further expanding the district’s capacity for meetings, events, and leisure travel once delivered.

The broader North Texas commercial real estate community will have an opportunity to discuss market trends later this summer at the Connect Texas Multifamily conference in Dallas on August 13. The event is scheduled to bring together owners, developers, brokers, investors, and lenders active in the Texas multifamily sector for a day of networking and market-focused programming.
