Accelerator Biotechnology Incubator (ABI) Labs in Natick has secured $13.6 million from Rockland Trust to expand with ABI-LAB 3. The company’s COO, Gary Kaufman, expressed excitement for the expansion and its mission to create an innovative community for small to mid-sized emerging life science companies. The goal is to remove operational and financial obstacles for early stage and newer expanding companies.
The expansion will serve as a hub for startups by providing advanced lab space and resources. This project involves demolishing an existing motel at 1350 Worcester Street in Natick MA, and constructing a 34,831-square-foot research lab building expected to be completed by November 2024. Shared amenities such as conference rooms and lounges will also be available at the facility.
