ABB Installation Products Inc. is making significant progress on its $40 million expansion project in West Albuquerque, with an expected completion by the end of this year. The company has recently been granted a building permit for the construction of a 90,000-square-foot manufacturing facility.
The expansion will effectively double ABB’s production capacity for their Elastimold brand, which offers a wide range of underground cable accessories, fuses and switchgear. David E. Harvey Builders Inc., renowned for their expertise in commercial construction projects, has been chosen as the contractor for ABB’s building expansion.
This development is set to bring about more than 55 new job opportunities to Albuquerque in various roles such as production staff, engineers and quality specialists. With over 500 current employees already based in Albuquerque under its parent company ABB Ltd., headquartered in Switzerland since 1973; further hiring plans are also underway later this year as they approach completion of their ambitious expansion project.
