The Hill Country Group has secured entitlements for a $267 million film studio in San Marcos, Texas. The project is expected to break ground later this year and could eventually provide more than 800,000 square feet of studio facilities at full buildout. This includes 12 purpose-built sound stages, four workshops and over 200,000 square feet of production office space – roughly the size of a regional mall.
The total project will be constructed in three phases: Phase 1A will include seven production stages, two workshops and a welcome center; phase 1B will encompass 250,000 square feet of office space; while phase 2 consists five additional stages plus two workshops with support spaces available as well as vendor spaces planned by Hill Country Group.
