CyrusOne has purchased 25 acres of land just west of Texas Research Parkway in San Antonio and filed plans to build a data center. The site plan outlines two buildings, each no more than 75 feet high, with an estimated utility capacity of 18 megawatts. These buildings are designated as SAT10 and SAT11.
According to the San Antonio Business Journal, CyrusOne has agreed to complete the construction within 18 months from start to delivery and begin building within 36 months after purchasing the land.
San Antonio is becoming increasingly popular for data center activity; Microsoft recently expanded its presence on Bexar County’s western fringes – near where CyrusOne is developing their new facility – while they already have three existing centers (SAT1, SAT2 & SAT5) in the area too.
