Meal delivery service provider, Factor, has opened a 301,000 square foot fulfillment center in Goodyear. This is the company’s first facility outside of their base in Illinois and it is larger than all five existing industrial facilities combined. Founded in 2013 and acquired by HelloFresh about three years ago, Factor specializes in chef-prepared meals made from scratch using fresh and natural ingredients.
Factor has already hired 100 people for their Goodyear center but plans to increase this number to 800 as they scale up operations over time. In a few years’ time they also expect to be preparing up to 2 million meals weekly at the new facility. During its opening week alone nearly 100,000 meals were prepared along with 10,000 boxes shipped out for customers across the Phoenix metro area!
Once food arrives at the Goodyear kitchen it goes through several stages: cutting up ingredients; cooking/baking/grilling; rapid refrigeration; sealing & storage before finally being shipped out for delivery!
