The region’s key role in defense and biotech sectors is driving demand for AI talent, with top-tier corporations like Leidos, Boeing and AstraZeneca actively seeking out skilled professionals.

Data scientists make up 17% of all AI-related job postings in Metro DC while roles such as solutions architects, system engineers, full stack engineers and scrum masters are gaining traction. This diversification of positions further reinforces the region’s prominence within this field.
