Tacoma Modular Tower Project Gets New Developer

Charles Cheung, a Los Angeles-area developer, is pursuing permits to develop a $70 million 233-unit project called Star Residence. In 2022, pre-development plans were initially filed with the city by Bothell-based DMG Capital Group and reported on by the Puget Sound Business Journal. At that time, Cheung’s company Pinnacle LGS was involved as a partner in the project but has since taken over ownership after acquiring four parcels of land for $2.2 million through an associated entity. Pinnacle LGS specializes in light gauge steel (LGS) framed building construction services.
