Google has unveiled plans for a new data center in Red Oak, south of Dallas. The company will make an initial investment of $330 million that could potentially grow to $600 million over the course of several years. Upon completion, the facility is expected to employ 30 full-time staff members and generate approximately 1,200 jobs within the construction sector during its construction phase. Spanning roughly 285,000 square feet—equivalent to five football fields—the project is projected to take two years for completion. This would be Google’s second site in Texas; they have already completed an existing data center in Midlothian (see photo).
According Cushman & Wakefield D-FW report by end 2022 there will be more than 2.2 million square feet of data center projects under development pipeline making it one among nation’s leading markets for datacenter constructions .
