In the 1980s, Fiesta Mall in Mesa was a thriving shopping destination. However, as more people began to shop online, malls across the country struggled to stay afloat. Now demolition of this now-shuttered mall is underway in order to make way for a new mixed-use project that will include multifamily housing and commercial options.
Verde Investments is leading this project through the Mesa planning department with Nelsen Partners acting as its designer – an architectural firm which previously worked on Paradise Valley Mall’s redevelopment. While specific plans have yet to be submitted for approval by city officials, Verde has stated that it could potentially fit up 4,000 apartments and homes alongside various retail and commercial components at this site once complete.
This ambitious project marks another step forward in Phoenix’s ongoing urbanization process – one which promises exciting opportunities for local residents and businesses alike!
