Evergreen Real Estate Group has appointed Jewell Walton to the newly created position of Vice President of Public Partnerships. Drawing from her experience at the Chicago Housing Authority, Walton will be tasked with diversifying Evergreen’s affordable housing portfolio by collaborating with public housing agencies to convert existing public housing assistance into long-term, project-based Section 8 contracts.
Walton most recently served as Deputy Chief of Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) programming at CHA; their RAD portfolio is second largest in the nation. Before that she was a Project Manager for S.B Friedman & Company for over 10 years, where she managed numerous market and financial feasibility studies for Illinois’ affordable housing developments.
Walton holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Sociology from Illinois Wesleyan University as well as a Master’s degree in Urban Planning and Policy from UIC Chicago.
