Northern Virginia Leads East Coast in Data Centers – JLL Report

Northern Virginia continues to lead the US data center market, according to JLL’s recently released report for the second half of the financial year. The region has experienced a record-breaking 2022, absorbing more than one gigawatt in three years. In 2023, 163 megawatts of the multi-tenant data center (MTDC) inventory and 203 megawatts of single-tenant inventory were delivered. Additionally, Northern Virginia saw its third consecutive year with record absorption at 479 megawatts in 2022.

Despite concerns over power delivery timelines, hyper scalers are still making large investments in this area due to its strong data center market which is expected to continue growing and dominating in upcoming years as per JLL’s report findings.
