Groundbreaking of Passive House Affordable Housing in Washington DC's Ward 7 by NDC

Neighborhood Development Company (NDC) recently held a groundbreaking ceremony on a new Passive House Institute Certified affordable housing mixed-use development at 3450 Eads St. in the River Terrace Community. This property is set to be the first Net-Zero Ready, PHIUS certified affordable housing development project in Washington, DC.

At the groundbreaking event, NDC CEO Adrian Washington expressed his enthusiasm for this accomplishment: “This is the culmination of hard work and creative energy from an amazing team that came together to deliver an innovative development for this community. No single person or organization could have achieved this within such a short time frame; it was truly collaborative effort.”

The building will be four stories tall and feature 49 units with 20% dedicated as family-sized housing units designed with energy efficiency in mind.
