William & Mary Student Housing Project Reaches Financial Close with Balfour Beatty

Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions has achieved financial close on a public-private partnership (P3) project to construct new student housing at William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA. Construction is set to begin in July 2021 with an opening planned for Fall 2025. The construction team includes Balfour Beatty’s Buildings division and Kjellstrom+Lee of Richmond, VA.

Amy Aponte, VP of Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions and alumna of William & Mary ’94,’96 commented: “William & Mary’s leadership have been focused on the needs of their students and their goals for a more sustainable future. We hope these new communities embody the authentic William & Mary experience while providing housing that reflects the university’s rich diversity.”

The project supports Vision 2026 plan which features a housing and dining master plan designed to meet future strategic needs at William&Mary . The first phase will provide 935 student residences at West Woods on west campus as well as 269 student dwellings adjacent Lemon/Hardy Halls along Jamestown Road .
