CIM Group was joined by Pastor Charles Blake II, pastor of West Angeles Church of God in Christ, and Los Angeles City Councilwoman Heather Hutt for a community celebration to mark the start of construction on a mixed-use development. The project at 3045 Crenshaw Blvd. will consist of 168 apartments, including 17 affordable units, as well as 40,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
The new residences and community-serving retail are being developed on an approximately 1.3 acre property that formerly housed West Angeles Church’s north campus facility for 43 years before consolidating its facilities into its south campus location at 3600 Crenshaw Blvd..
In 2004 Shaul Kuba – cofounder at CIM Group – had his first meeting with Bishop Charles E Blake Sr., former pastor at West Angels Church which sparked an ongoing dialogue about developing commercial properties in the neighborhood that would align with local needs and wants within the context of the community; such as this new apartment complex currently under construction.
Kuba stated “My first meeting with Bishop Blake led to an ongoing dialogue about our shared vision to improve the community through infill developments like this one.”
