Eastwind Development has appointed Omar del Rio as Vice President of Acquisitions and Development, based in the company’s Palm Beach Gardens headquarters. Del Rio will be responsible for spearheading Eastwind’s development of new multifamily communities throughout South Florida. His expertise encompasses luxury high-rise residential projects, affordable housing developments and everything in between.
Del Rio previously held a Senior Vice President position at Quarterra where he developed numerous multifamily communities located in Wynwood, Doral and downtown Sarasota. He was involved with site searches, navigating entitlement processes, managing construction phases as well as dispositions during his tenure there.
He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Architecture from Tulane University; a Master’s degree in Architecture & Urban Design from Harvard University; plus a Master’s degree Real Estate Development from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
