Finegold Alexander Architects, based in Boston, recently marked the completion of the York Judicial Center redevelopment project in Biddeford, Maine. The firm was selected to plan and design a 118,000-square-foot facility that consolidates four existing York County courthouses into one judicial center. This center features courtrooms of various sizes for arraignments, trials and non-jury proceedings.
The building is an all-electric structure with rooftop photovoltaics and ground source heat exchangers for energy efficiency purposes. Finegold Alexander has a portfolio of civic projects throughout New England including Lowell Justice Center; Fall River Justice Center; Massachusetts State House – Executive Offices of the Governor; and Boston City Hall Council Chambers. This latest project marks yet another successful addition to their impressive list of accomplishments within this region’s built environment landscape
