SimonCRE and Carefree Partners are collaborating on a joint venture to add 70,000 square feet of restaurants and retail to the Surprise City Center. This is only the beginning; they plan to develop more in the future including office buildings with ground-floor retail, apartments, parking, a family entertainment center and more across 30-40 acres in downtown Surprise.
50% of this space already has leases or commitments from tenants (Mission BBQ) before construction begins. The cost for developing this initial phase will total approximately $35 million.
Construction is scheduled to start during Q3 2021 with completion estimated at one year after that point; however no general contractor has been selected yet.
