Post Lake Capital Partners is taking a major step forward in the redevelopment of Hemisfair Park with its plans to construct a 10-story residential tower and three-story retail building. The city’s Historic and Design Review Commission has approved the design plans, which will be built on a 2.4 acre site near Market Street as part of an agreement between Post Lake and Hemisfair Park Area Redevelopment Corp.
The 2012 City Council unanimously approved the Master Plan for Hemisfair, which calls for new park space along with mixed-use neighborhood development featuring retail, restaurant and residential components. The first phase of Civic Park is set to open this September with an event lawn that can accommodate up to 10,000 people.
